An idea deserves more than encouragement. It needs a foundation strong enough to carry what comes next.
Daneicia Cockrell (dSelah) · Founder, Lucid Solutions
Bridgetown, St Michael, Barbados
In Bridgetown, Barbados, Daneicia Cockrell is building Lucid Solutions around a practical ambition: helping grassroots entrepreneurs turn what they are building into businesses they can structure, explain, and prepare for opportunity.
The founder and creative entrepreneur, also known as dSelah, focuses particularly on women, young people, and community-based enterprises. Her work connects a belief in their potential with the details that can help a business move forward: ownership clarity, visibility, and a stronger foundation.
It is an approach that gives the work behind a business its own place in the story.
The work before the opportunity
Through Lucid Solutions, which she describes as a social enterprise and holding company, and She Means Business Barbados Collective, Daneicia supports business structuring, valuation preparation, and investor readiness.
For a founder, those tasks can mean learning to explain who owns what, how the enterprise operates, and what a potential supporter needs to understand. They turn a personal vision into something others can engage with.
The value extends beyond a funding conversation. A clearer structure can also help an entrepreneur understand their own business and make more deliberate decisions about its future.
“Our current initiative, LSOF (Lucid Solutions Opportunity Framework), is a one-year programme designed to help fill gaps that remain for entrepreneurs while complementing existing support systems.”
Making support more connected
The Lucid Solutions Opportunity Framework gives that ambition a one-year programme format. Daneicia describes it as a way to address gaps while working alongside the support entrepreneurs already have access to.
That is a thoughtful starting point. A founder’s needs do not always fit neatly within a single service or programme. Someone may need help clarifying ownership before preparing a valuation, or strengthening their business presentation before approaching an investor.
Her emphasis is on creating practical pathways between those needs, with particular attention to people building at the grassroots level.
An enterprise vision rooted in practical work
Lucid Landscaping is one of the initiatives within Daneicia’s work. Alongside it, her broader vision for Lucid Solutions includes developing ventures in agribusiness, wellness, and community economic development.
These strands give her enterprise work a tangible setting: services, skills, and the communities in which businesses operate. Supporting other founders sits alongside developing ventures of her own.
Daneicia is also participating in the EGERIES B2B Digital Incubation Programme, described in her biography as supporting early-stage Caribbean, African, and diaspora agribusiness founders. As she builds support for others, she is continuing to develop her own work too.
Giving ambition something to stand on
There is something compelling about giving attention to the parts of entrepreneurship that rarely make the headline.
A clearer understanding of ownership. A business that is easier to explain. A founder better prepared for a conversation that matters.
These are practical steps, but they belong to a larger ambition: helping people participate more confidently in the opportunities they are working toward.
For Daneicia, community equity and sustainable growth are connected to that preparation. Through Lucid Solutions, she is building an approach that takes grassroots ambition seriously enough to work on its foundations.

A note from DaHo
Daneicia, there is care in taking someone’s ambition seriously.
What I appreciate about your work is the attention you give to what comes after encouragement. You are focusing on the questions that help a founder understand their business more clearly and prepare to share it with others.
Your commitment to women, young people, and community-based entrepreneurs gives that work a meaningful centre. So does your intention to build alongside existing support, adding your contribution to a wider effort.
Thank you for bringing your perspective from Barbados to Featured Founders. I am glad to make room for a story that values the foundations as much as the possibilities they can support.
Keep the purpose close. Keep building.
