How One Founder Is Building New Haiti

Concern is a beginning. James Toussaint’s vision is about what people can build from it, together.
James Toussaint · Founder & President, New Haiti
West Palm Beach, Florida
James Toussaint is building New Haiti around a commitment to service: connecting people, organizations, and resources in support of Haitian communities.
Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, the founder and president describes a vision that holds immediate concerns and longer-term possibilities together. His work focuses on empowering people and advancing sustainable development for Haiti, with faith as a guiding influence.
At its center is a straightforward ambition: build up the people, rebuild Haiti, and turn collective purpose into lasting progress.
Seeing people beyond the urgency
The message supplied for The New Haiti Project speaks of Haitian families and workers navigating uncertainty. It asks readers to consider not only the information people need, but the human support that can help them face what comes next.
“Families need more than information—they need someone to help them navigate the road ahead.”
That line gives this founder story its human focus. Behind a public issue are people making decisions about their families and futures. James’s stated intention is to help the initiative connect with vulnerable community members and bring people and resources into that effort.
It is a vision of service that begins with connection, rather than treating concern as the end of the conversation.
Connecting effort, not carrying it alone
James’s approach emphasizes bringing people and organizations together. New Haiti’s introduction describes capacity-building with partners as part of its ambition to address the root causes of migration.
That gives the work two horizons: support for Haitian communities in the United States and a longer-term commitment to opportunity and sustainable development for Haiti.
For a founder, connecting those horizons asks for more than a compelling statement of purpose. It asks how different contributions can become a shared effort. James places that collective purpose at the heart of his vision.
Faith as a foundation for service
James’s biography describes his leadership as guided by faith and a commitment to service. Those are the values he brings to the work of connecting concern with action.
His vision for New Haiti is not limited to responding to a difficult moment. It is also about the possibility of building something beyond it: stronger connections, empowered people, and a shared commitment to progress.
That is the founder perspective worth following here. James is putting a name, a direction, and a call for collective participation around a cause that matters to him.
